When I open the report, go to Database, Log On or Off Server the Data Explorer window appears. Select the previously defined http xml url data source under My Connections, click Log On buttion and nothing happens. No prompt for logon credentials, the Log On button remains active. I close the Data Explorer window and attempt to refresh the report. Click the refresh button and I am prompted for the parameters to be applied to the web service request. Fill those out and click ok and the web service request is submitted. I receive an SAP Crystal Reports message window with "Unknown Database Connector Error". I have access to a log file on our web server that records each interaction with any web service and for this request a 401 (unauthorized) code is as returned. The request appears to have been made without any authentication credentials. This is understandable because it has not allowed me to resupply these credentials.
Thank you for the suggestion regarding enabling Database logging. I will investigate.
